Some friends of mine in quilt chat kinda had a bet thing going on trying to guess what a lumber handler looked like that I was getting ready to haul, so I am posting pictures taken from all sides of it so they can get a good look at the ugly thing LOL. It was 12 foot wide once it was on the trailer. It is parts of an automated lumber making mill. This was not even the whole system, just the parts that would fit on my load.

LOL I am Still at It
Still here playing with these itty bitty paper pieced blocks......at this rate as small as the pieces are it will take a lifetime just to use up my scraps LOL. But who knew I could have so many hours of just pure fun playing with scraps so small most folks throw them away. The ones I made today I can visualize projects made from so I packed a good sized plastic tub with scraps and printed off a sheaf of paper patterns and it is all ready to get stashed in my truck to play with when i don't have a load.
Tonight is my last night at home for a while so I am getting the last minute things all done up to close up the house. Took my truck to town this afternoon and hooked it up to the trailer, and it's a good thing I did. The hill coming up out of out yard is so steep I spun out twice and had to let it roll back down to the bottom and get a better run at it to get out on the county road. My sister in law drove me back home, and now I am trying to find someone that can take me back to the truck tomorrow when I get ready to go. Roads are slick and still a half rain half snow mix coming down and freezing on everything in sight. YUK have I ever mentioned I HATE WINTER !!!! LOL.

Play Day
Just give me a pile of scraps and let me be and I can play all day LOL. For quite some time I have been wanting to try the foundation pieced quilt blocks from LJI embroidery site, so today I took the plunge. There are 4 blocks per set in the designs and I tried my hand at all of them and I think they turned out cute as a button. Now I can't wait till I can get more sets to try. I might even actually make something with these little cuties after I get done playing.

I guess I lied to ya'll without meaning to
LOL nothing major......I thought I was done for the year when I posted the pictures a week or so ago, but I got a chance to haul 2 local loads that were wide and due to it being a holiday and the fact that trucks willing to work were scarce.......two short loads ( 9 miles each) paid me the equivelent of a week's wages for 26 hours work. Plus I got an additional bonus..... the customer needed to get rid of some wood he had there so he gave me 2 huge bundles of 4x4 x8 timbers. We use these a lot in my kind of work and they cost about $4 a timber in the hardware stores. I have no idea how many are in these bundles yet ( I stopped counting at 100). My son in law is going to meet me up where my trailer is at around noon today to help me unload them and bring them home and stack them out behind the truck shed....
So it seems I am starting my new year on a comfortable note..... home safe and warm with plenty to eat and drink and plenty of fabric to play with............
